DANCE OF YEARNING
Please join SAQQARA for a new show featuring NOOR-JIHAN with special guests SITARA-NASRIN from Pittsburgh and local favorites LISA and DIANNA, as well as other guests performing with special musical guests KIMO, ABDUL-RAHIM and master percussionist MOHSIN in expressions of yearning through Middle Eastern dance and music.
* Come early for the delicious, savory Mediterranean food of MEZÈ Restaurant, as food will not be served during the show. Then sit back and enjoy the dance and the music!
About Saqqara
SAQQARA is a Middle Eastern dance troupe formed by dancers Noor-Jihan (Artistic Director), Tomas (Co-Director), Lisa al-Jihan, Suzana, and others. The group enjoys exploring and sharing the beauty and variety of Middle and Near Eastern dance and music in an effort to enhance community diversity and bridge cultures. Based in the Washington DC metro area, SAQQARA has been sharing the joy and art of the dance in the Washington and New York areas since 1999.
Noor-Jihan
Artistic Director
Noor-Jihan has been teaching and performing professionally in the Washington D.C. area since 1993. She has given workshops in Central Pennsylvania and Washington DC in Orientale dance and dance improvisation. She has performed for numerous private occasions such as birthdays, weddings, engagements and holiday parties, and for cultural events at Pennsylvania State University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, and other venues.
Lisa al-Jihan
Lisa's contemporary bellydance style is influenced by classical Egyptian, Turkish cabaret, jazz, modern, Bollywood, and tantric movement. Lisa's specialty is the funky improvisational drum solo. With 13 years of Middle Eastern dance experience she gives classes and workshops in the Middle Atlantic region and dances in Washington DC area restaurants as well.

SAQQARA shows are held at the hot Turkish nightclub MEZÈ. Every Sunday night is Harem Night, with FREE dance classes by Noor-Jihan!
